Working Our Dogs
The Alaskan Malamute is a working dog and, as such, is never happier than when performing some of the tasks that he was originally bred to do. His whole conformation and temperament is as it is, in order that it can fulfill it's true purpose in life ~ a freighting sledge dog.
As owners, admirers and guardians of this wonderful breed, we owe it to them to allow them the opportunity to work and take part in activities which suit them, obviously restricted to an extent by the temperate climate in which we live.
With that in mind, we are involved in a range of activities including Weight Pulling, Sledding (Dryland Racing & Trekking) and Back Packing and, where possible, we compete for AMCA Working Certification .
Our dogs are all from true working lines and we try to maintain their natural abilities and inate enthusiasm!
