About Us
We are John & Louise Forster and have been owned by our Malamutes since May 2000 when Kai, our first boy came to stay. He came as a pet...just a pet...but it wasn't long before the showing and working bugs had bitten and we extended our family with the gradual introduction of the others. Elke came next and she stayed with us for 14 1/2 years. Sika and Chena followed in 2006, and finally Troy joined the pack from the USA in 2012.
Sadly, having lost the Malamutes gradually over the last 12 years, we now only have Troy. But Ash, our Border Collie, has joined the family.
We live on the western edge of the English Lake District and have always enjoyed the countryside, as have the dogs. Our dogs have always been, first and foremost, part of our family but working and showing was also a big part of our lives. All of our dogs have been shown and done reasonably well. All have also worked in harness. All of the dogs have lived together in the house with us. We have been members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK since 2000 and we have both served on the committee. Louise is also a member of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. She is also a Breed Specialist CC Judge for Alaskan Malamutes and also judges other breeds in the Working group.
